  7.     Has Gus Savage had a change of heart? Just a year ago,
  8. during a bitter primary fight, the Democratic Congressman from
  9. Chicago ripped into opponent Mel Reynolds for accepting "Jewish
  10. money." How strange, then, that invitations to last week's
  11. $500-a-head "Gus Savage for Congress" fund raiser in Washington
  12. went to some of the same organizations he had vowed to "run back
  13. to Highland Park where you came from." What's more, the
  14. invitations carried the name of House Speaker Tom Foley, who had
  15. professed to be "disturbed" by Savage's inflammatory campaign
  16. rhetoric. The Speaker didn't turn up at the bash, but a Foley
  17. spokesman confirms that he "supports all Democratic candidates."
